Arthroscopic Saucerization

Arthroscopic saucerization is performed to treat a discoid meniscus. The menisci in the knee are normally cresecent shaped. Discoid menisci are prone to injury and are usually discovered in childhood. Saucerization involves cutting and reshaping the discoid meniscus. The surgery is usually performed with the help of an arthroscope using a few small incisions.
