Distal Femoral Osteotomy

A distal femoral osteotomy is a procedure to change the shape of the bone at the lower end of the femur (thighbone). It is usually performed to treat knock knees and arthritis in the lateral compartment of the knee. The bone is surgically fractured on the inside of the knee and a plate is used to fixate the bone in a corrected alignment.
