Proximal Biceps Tendonitis

Proximal biceps tendonitis is the inflammation or irritation of your upper biceps tendon. Pain and weakness in the front shoulder area are common symptoms. It may be caused by repetitive activities during sports or routine chores. The proximal biceps tendonitis may be diagnosed by physical examination, x-rays, or MRI scans, and relieved with rest and pain medication. In severe cases, surgical repair of the biceps tendon may be recommended.
